Tyrell Malacia is set to become the latest Manchester United player to leave on loan during this transfer window, with a switch to PSV imminent.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move over the transfer window, with Benfica touted as a possible destination, but that deal falling through.

Sky Sports report that Malacia will return to his home nation by joining Dutch club PSV on a six-month deal.

The move until the end of the season is not thought to have an option to buy in the summer.

The left-back is set to complete a medical before the transfer window closes to take the former Feyenoord player back to the Eredivisie for the first time since 2022.

The Netherlands international arrived at Old Trafford from Feyenoord for an initial fee of just £13m, so it was not a signing which broke the bank.

However, he has still had a disappointing time with the Red Devils, badly hampered by injury as he missed the entirety of the 2023/24 season due to a serious knee problem.

The full-back’s contract runs until 2026, with an option for a further year, with his future likely to be decided by how he performs for PSV over the next six months.

The team managed by Peter Bosz sit top of the Eredivisie and beat Liverpool in the final game of the Champions League group stage, earning themselves a crack at Juventus in the knockout play-offs.

There have been a number of exits this winter in terms of loan deals, with Marcus Rashford and Antony the most high profile of them.

Rashford has signed for Aston Villa until the end of the season and Antony has moved to Real Betis, winning Man of the Match on his debut on Sunday.

The Red Devils are not expected to make any further signings on deadline day after bringing in Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, with the left wing-back the only major signing of the transfer window.

Youngster Ayden Heaven has also arrived from Arsenal, but it is now very unlikely that a forward will be signed, despite the departures of Rashford and Antony.

The likes of Mathys Tel and Christopher Nkunku were linked with moves to Old Trafford, but neither will be joining.
