Zach Robichon and Aston Martin factory driver Mattia Drudi will join Heart of Racing Team’s Aston Martin LMGT3 lineup in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Confirmed on Monday, Robichon and Drudi are set to share the No. 27 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo with team principal and Bronze-rated driver Ian James for the eight-round championship.

It marks Heart of Racing’s first overhaul of its WEC GT lineup since the team entered the championship partway through the 2023 campaign, as it contested every round since then with Alex Riberas and Daniel Mancinelli alongside James.

However, Riberas is set to step up to the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH program this season, while Robichon replaces Mancinelli to continue the relationship with the team he started last year.

The Canadian raced a Proton Competition Ford Mustang GT3 in WEC last year.

“I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of the Heart of Racing for a little over a year now,” said Robichon.

“I’m excited to finally be able to complete a full season together with Ian and Mattia in WEC.

“This championship is one that I love and to have the chance to compete with Aston Martin and the Heart of Racing Team is one that cannot come soon enough!”

Drudi, meanwhile, will make his WEC debut. The Italian joined Aston Martin last year after a multi-year tenure as a factory driver with Audi and won the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa in his first season with the British marque.

“I’m super excited to be making my FIA WEC debut with the Heart of Racing Team,” said Drudi.

“Zach was one of the best Silver-rated drivers in 2024 and Ian has been one of the quickest Bronze-rated drivers.

“I think overall we have a really strong lineup. The Aston Martin Vantage was one of the strongest and most competitive cars last year. I can’t wait to get the season started in Qatar later this month.”
