The Brutalist
A24 is expected to release Brady Corbet’s acclaimed drama “The Brutalist” on digital platforms on February 25th – just a few days before the Oscars. The film world premiered at the Venice Film Festival and launched in cinemas in limited release on December 20th. [Source: WhenToStream]
The Resurrection of The Christ
An Eventbrite invitation advertising a speaking appearance by Jim Caviezel at a church in California has indicated that Mel Gibson’s “The Resurrection of The Christ” will begin filming by March.
The invitation indicates the actor willbe “just a month out from starting production on The Resurrection” when he does the appearance on February 7th. That differs from comments by Gibson earlier this month which suggested the project hadn’t locked in filming dates yet.
R.I.P. Erwin
Reclusive actor John Erwin, who provided the voices for He-Man in the original 1980s “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” cartoon, along with frenemy Reggie Mantle in the “Archie” cartoons and Morris the Cat in a series of commercials, has died at the age of 88. Erwin died of natural causes, according to reps at the PR firm Celebworx. [Source: THR]
Electric State
Netflix has unveiled the first official clip from Joe and Anthony Russo’s mega-budget “The Electric State” starring Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown. The film is slated to release on Netflix on March 14th.
Set in a retro-futuristic past, this blockbuster adventure from filmmakers Anthony and Joe Russo follows Michelle (Brown), an orphaned teenager who traverses the American West in search of her younger brother. Joining her on the journey is a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter (Pratt). Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito and Stanley Tucci also star.
