Is Nepal going to be the first stamp on the Proton eMas 7‘s passport? The above photo was recently posted on Proton Cars Nepal’s Facebook page, and TechLekh reports that the EV is expected to be offered in Light (NPR58.9 lakh, RM189,500) and Max (NPR68.9 lakh, RM221,600) variants when it launches in the third week of March in the nation, where duties on imported cars can go way over 200%.

Specs should mirror our Prime and Premium variants, if the report is to be believed – a 218 PS/320 Nm electric motor draws juice from a 49.52 kWh battery on the Light variant and a 60.22 kWh battery on the Max variant. The numbers are all familiar, including the 345 km and 410 km WLTP ranges, 15.4-inch touch-screen and 10.2-inch instrument panel.

All should be made official soon. Proton’s Nepalese distributor Jagdamba Motors currently sells the Saga, X50 and X70 in Nepal. In Malaysia, the Proton eMas 7 costs RM105,800 (Prime) and RM119,800 (Premium), RM4,000 early bird discount included.
