Multiple Watchers In Next “Avengers”?

Early story details have emerged regarding Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which all tie back to the recently finished animated anthology series “What If?”.

Scooper DanielRPK reports that we can expect ‘multiple’ Watchers to appear in the new “Avengers” films. The recent finale of that show indicated that Jeffrey Wright’s Uatu isn’t the only one watching over the Multiverse.

In the comics, the Watchers are an ancient, powerful race with vast knowledge who adhere to a strict code of non-intervention. Uatu, who watches over Earth, has occasionally broken this rule.

If the report is true, it raises several questions: Will Jeffrey Wright reprise his role in live-action? How will Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom figure into this, and will he cross paths with these characters?

A report several months ago suggested Marvel is considering casting a famed veteran actor as The Beyonder in the film. Ever since, speculation has been that Doom is seeking to acquire The Beyonder’s powers to create a new Sacred Timeline – or at the very last Battleworld, which would set up ‘Secret Wars’.

Filming on “Avengers: Doomsday” is slated to get underway in March ahead of a May 2026 release date.
