Miscommunication on my part, or I did the right thing?
Context: So I joined an organisation as a finance intern 2.5 months back with 5 other folks, and the internship is of 6 months, and currently in the last month of learning Incident: I got an email today of a certain task (we were informed a few weeks earlier that we all will be getting work once learning ends). After that email, I was active on Slack after office hours for some work, and suddenly got a call with our manager (the one overseeing our learning), In the call with the manager I did inform him about getting the work, and he congratulated me and told me that we have a briefing the next day with all the interns and that we all will now be getting involved in the work considering our learning is over and asked me to do another minor task as practice Issue: Here is the confusion: whether the task assigned was just for me or the entire group, as I see no reason for the senior to tell me about the briefing and assignment of work assigned to the entire batch. I did tell all my intern colleagues the same thing: that we will have a briefing where we will be assigned work now and I also asked them to perform a similar task that is given to me. My thoughts: Now I am really conflicted that whether I just made a mistake ?. I am confused about the whether I misjudged the manager's intention of telling me the next day's schedule and assignment of work after office hours as a hint to inform others so that they are prepared and indirectly wanted this to be communicated with everyone. I am not sure if I did the right thing or not. Advice needed: Please suggest to me any way that I can improve and deal with this situation. What shall I do tomorrow?

So I joined an organisation as a finance intern 2.5 months back with 5 other folks, and the internship is of 6 months, and currently in the last month of learning
Incident:
I got an email today of a certain task (we were informed a few weeks earlier that we all will be getting work once learning ends).
After that email, I was active on Slack after office hours for some work, and suddenly got a call with our manager (the one overseeing our learning),
In the call with the manager I did inform him about getting the work, and he congratulated me and told me that we have a briefing the next day with all the interns and that we all will now be getting involved in the work considering our learning is over and asked me to do another minor task as practice
Issue:
Here is the confusion: whether the task assigned was just for me or the entire group, as I see no reason for the senior to tell me about the briefing and assignment of work assigned to the entire batch.
I did tell all my intern colleagues the same thing: that we will have a briefing where we will be assigned work now and I also asked them to perform a similar task that is given to me.

I am confused about the whether I misjudged the manager's intention of telling me the next day's schedule and assignment of work after office hours as a hint to inform others so that they are prepared and indirectly wanted this to be communicated with everyone.
I am not sure if I did the right thing or not.
