About a year ago came a report indicating that a film adaptation was on the way of “Midnight Sons” at Marvel Studios. Michael Giacchino (“Werewolf by Night”) was rumored to be attached to direct.
In the comics, “Midnight Sons” is a team of supernatural superheroes that includes Blade, Morbius and at least two versions of Ghost Rider. Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, Man-Thing and others also make up this group.
At the time, composer-turned-filmmaker Michael Giacchino (“Werewolf by Night”) was rumored to be attached to direct.
Cut to today and scooper MyTimeToShineHello (via CBM) claims that Michael Green (“Blade Runner 2049,” “Logan”) was enlisted to write the project this past Summer, but his take “didn’t click” with the studio and so they parted ways with the project.
As a result, Marvel is said to be searching for a replacement. Officially however, such a project has yet to be announced.
Other characters who’ve been a part of the team in the past include Wong, Ghost Rider, Blade, Werewolf by Night, & Man-Thing.
