Latin Remix of the Week: Pipe Bueno & Nico Hernández’s ‘Quiero Hacerte El Amor’

In our Latin Remix of the Week series, we spotlight remixes that the Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors deem exceptional and distinct. We might not publish a review every week. This is our selection today.

Pipe Bueno has brought back one of his most famous songs from more than 15 years ago, “Quiero Hacerte el Amor,” in a new remix with Nico Hernández.

On Thursday (Feb. 6), the two Colombian artists dropped “Quiero Hacerte el Amor (Remix),” lacing modern música popular (Regional Colombian) elements with traditional Mexican music. The original song was released by Bueno (real name: Andrés Felipe Giraldo Bueno) in 2008 in a banda rhythm. This also mark’s Pipe and Nico’s second collaborative effort.

“Right now I’m having a really nice time with my wife,” Bueno tells Billboard exclusively. “It’s just about vibing together. Nico is an artist with that profile…he’s vibrating with me in the same vein. ‘Quiero Hacerte el Amor’ is a song that has so much energy. It’s romantic. It’s a fusion between norteño music and other Mexican waves. It’s a song to party to. [My fans] still love the first version and to this day they make tiktoks for it, so imagine this fusion.”

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, “Quiero Hacerte el Amor (Remix),” which translates to “I want to make love to you,” is a man’s deep confession to someone he’s in love with. “Today I’m in love with you to the core/I want to find myself in your kisses/And drink your honey, your passion/because I simply love you,” Hernández kicks off the new version with his sugary vocals.

Filmed in Bueno’s Rancho Mx restaurant, located in Bogota, the music video features the two música popular artists performing the song to a group of people having dinner.
