Jeremy Stephens picked up a stoppage victory over former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in their bareknuckle boxing main event at Saturday night’s Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship event.
Stephens forced a corner stoppage after three rounds, and knocked Alvarez down multiple times in the featured bout at BKFC Knucklemania V. Stephens, 38, is now 3-0 in the sport as Alvarez, 41, fell to 1-2 in BKFC.
Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor is a part owner of the organization and attended the event in person.
McGregor has a history with both fighters, becoming the UFC’s 155-pound champion in 2016 when he knocked out Alvarez at UFC 205. Earlier that year, McGregor had a viral “who the (bleep) is that guy?” moment with Stephens at a press conference.
Following Stephens’ win, McGregor congratulated him in the ring and suggested he’d be open to fighting Stephens in a bareknuckle contest in the future. McGregor has not competed in mixed martial arts since breaking his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
The event took place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Former UFC heavyweight Ben Rothwell won the BKFC world heavyweight championship with a 36-second knockout of Mick Terrill in the co-main event.
