They will be greatly missed. “Burton Albion you are getting a class player with a huge heart and wonderful family.” Jones replied: “Thank you Rob, we really appreciate the message, it was a privilege to be part of something special. “All the best to you and your family.” Jones had been at Wrexham for three-and-a-half years and made 138 appearances. The Scot joined from Lincoln City and played a crucial role in the Welsh club’s back-to-back promotions, going from the National League to League One in two years. Jones leaving the Racecourse Ground paved the way for the arrival of ex-Premier League star Jay Rodriguez.
