Grammys 2025 Winner List (Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, St. Vincent & more)

It’s 2025 Grammys day, and the Recording Academy had two separate awards ceremonies: first the afternoon Premiere Ceremony where most of the statues were given out; and then the main event at Crypto.com Arena where musical performances were the main focus along with the night’s biggest awards.

Beyoncé is up for 11 awards for Cowboy Carter and so far has won two: Best Country Album (she’s the first Black woman to ever win the award), and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus.

Record of the Year went to Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us,” which also won won Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video.

Chappell Roan, who’s up for six Grammys, won Best New Artist not long after performing “Pink Pony Club” at the ceremony, beating out Sabrina Carpenter, Shaboozey, Doechii, Benson Boone, Raye and Khruangbin. She gave an impassioned speech, saying record labels need to take care of their artists. “I told myself if I ever won a Grammy, I would demand that labels and the industry profiting millions of dollars off of artists would offer a livable wage and healthcare, especially to developing artists.”

Trevor Noah was back as host and before his opening monologue he said a little bit about the LA wildfires, noting that viewers could donate via the QR code on screen and that some of the commercial time during the broadcast was given to local businesses who need help. He then turned things over to Dawes (Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith both lost their homes) who performed Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” with slightly altered lyrics and instrumental help from John Legend, Brittany Howard, St. Vincent, Sheryl Crow and Brad Paisley.

Noah then went into his monologue, made jokes how Beyonce was here for her country album (she won one Grammy earlier in the afternoon) and may learn flute by next year. “Andre 5000, she’s coming for you!” Then Billie Eilish performed “Birds of a Feather.” After a commercial break and before an award had been given out, Sabrina Carpenter came out for a glitzy performance that included some tap dancing.

First award of the night was Best Rap Album which went to Doechii for Alligator Bites Never Heal. She noted that she is only the third female to win it (Lauryn Hill and Cardi B being the others).

Sabrina Carpenter won the second award of the night, Best Pop Vocal Album for Short n’ Sweet, and she won awards earlier in the day: Best Pop Solo Performance for “Espresso” and Best Remixed Recording for the Mark Ronson x FNZ Working Late remix of “Espresso,” two of her seven nominations this year.

Charli XCX won her first three Grammys during the afternoon Premiere Ceremony for Best Dance Pop Recording for “Von Dutch” and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album and Best Recording Package for Brat.

There were a few surprises, none bigger than The Weeknd, who said he was boycotting the Grammys in 2021, who was there to perform “Cry for Me” and “Timeless” with Playboi Carti. He was introduced by Recording Academy head Harvey Mason Jr. The Boycott is clearly over.

Justice and Tame Impala won Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Nevernder,” which was Tame Impala’s first Grammy win.

SZA won Best R&B Song for “Saturn.”

Rapsody featuring Erykah Badu won Best Melodic Rap Performance for “3:AM.”

Gillian Welch and David Rawlings won Best Folk Album for Woodland.

Kacey Musgraves won Best Country Song for “The Architect.”

The Beatles won Best Rock Performance for their 2023 “final” song, “Now and Then.”

Gojira (with Marina Viotti & Victor le Masne) won best Metal Performance for “Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!)”

St. Vincent won Best Rock Song for “Broken Man,” Best Alternative Music Performance for “Flea,” and Best Alternative Music Album for All Born Screaming.

The Rolling Stones won Best Rock Album for Hackney Diamonds.

The late Jimmy Carter posthumously won his fourth Grammy for his audiobook Jimmy Carter – Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration.

Sheila E won her first Grammy (Best Global Music Performance for Bemba Colorá with Gloria Estefan & Mimy Succar) and in her acceptance she said, “The very first time I was nominated was 40 years ago today. 1985. Just know that it’s never too late to keep doing and dreaming.”

The awards ceremony will be hosted by Trevor Noah, and this year’s performers include Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Doechii, Brittany Howard, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars, Shaboozey, Shakira, Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, and more, as well as a Quincy Jones tribute.

We’ll keep you posted on all the winners as they get announced. Stay tuned for more.
