Today (January 20), GOT7 and Kakao Entertainment unveiled the new record alongside an accompanying music video for lead single ‘Python’ at 6pm KST. The septet’s new music comes just a few days shy of their 11th anniversary on January 16.
“I know I’m an icon /Watch me with the lights on / But she got a hold on me like a Python / I don’t wanna lose her / ‘Cause she was my future / Shot through the chest / I was fallin’ for the shooter,” they sing on the chorus. Thai member BamBam is credited on the song as a co-writer and producer.
Aside from ‘Python’, ‘Winter Heptagon’ introduces eight new tracks: ‘Smooth’, ‘A Youth Drama’, ‘I’ll Remember’, ‘Darling’, ‘Tidal Wave’, ‘Out The Door’, ‘her’ and ‘All we can say is’. All GOT7 members are individually credited as co-producers and -writers on various tracks off ‘Winter Heptagon’.
The boyband will be holding a two-night concert on February 1 and 2 called ‘Nestfest’ at Seoul’s Olympic Handball Gymnasium. The February 2 show will be livestreamed for international fans via BeyondLIVE.
GOT7’s return to music also marks the end to a three-year hiatus for group projects, with their last being the release of their eponymous mini-album. The record featured titled track ‘NANANA’, and was their first music release since they left JYP Entertainment.
Comprising members Jay B, Jinyoung, Jackson Wang, Mark Tuan, BamBam, Youngjae and Yugyeom, GOT7 first debuted in January 2014 with their first mini-album ‘Got It?’. The group went on to release hits like ‘Just Right’, ‘If You Do’ and more.
