Ferrari Becomes Fourth Registered Manufacturer
Prancing Horse joins BMW, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche as official competitor for five-round series...
Ferrari will contest the Intercontinental GT Challenge this season as a registered manufacturer for the first time since 2022, as customer squad Arise Racing GT gears up to contest this weekend’s Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
The Italian marque joins BMW, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche in the fight for supremacy across what is now a five-round series with the return of the Suzuka 1000km.
As previously announced, Ferrari is lending two of its factory aces to join Arise’s two-car 296 GT3 effort as it returns to Bathurst for the first time since the 2020 edition.
Daniel Serra will share the No. 26 Pro car with Chaz Mostert, one half of last year’s title-winning GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS crew, and Will Brown.
Alessio Rovera meanwhile reinforces the No. 36 car, entered in the Pro-Am class, driving alongside Jaxon Evans, Elliot Schutte and Brad Schumacher.
In all, 14 of the 19 GT3 cars entered for this year’s Bathurst 12H are eligible for IGTC points, with Mercedes-AMG having by the far the best representation of the four registered manufacturers with no fewer than eight cars on the grid.
Of these, four — the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evos of SunEnergy1 Racing, Craft-Bamboo Racing, Scott Taylor Motorsport and GruppeM Racing — will fight for overall victory.
Like Ferrari, BMW and Porsche are represented by two cars each, with Team WRT’s pair of M4 GT3 EVOs flying the flag for BMW while 911 GT3 Rs entered by Absolute Racing and Manthey EMA (the latter in Pro-Am) will defend Porsche honor.
The top two cars from each manufacturer will score points for each marque, while every IGTC-registered car is eligible to score points towards the drivers’ championship.
