Someone, somewhere is leaking Accor and IHG reservation information, including guest names, email addresses, and valid stay dates.
We have covered a couple of these requests previously (read more here and here), but I thought that it would be a good time to remind readers not to click links on these emails:
Here is one reservation and a payment request that they received for an upcoming stay at a voco Singapore Orchard hotel next month:
The reservation information is correct, but the confirmation number is not.
If you happen to click the link (don’t do this), the Chrome browser will then warn you about the link and website.
Conclusion
It is unlikely that these individual hotels would be leaking this information, as they come from various properties in several countries.
I think the leakage occurs at a tech joint that both hoteliers are using, as I have not seen these from Marriott, Hyatt, or Hilton.
So, don’t click these links, as they might also install malware.
