‘Deion Sanders is the engine’ – Primetime is Jerry Jones’ last grasp
Jerry Jones and Deion Sanders are a match made in heaven. After all, we’ve seen it before. Sanders and Jones have a relationship going back 30 yearsGetty Sanders signed with Jones and the Dallas Cowboys in 1995, and helped ‘America’s Team’ go on to win Super Bowl XXX. It was their third Super Bowl title in four years. Sanders played five seasons in Dallas, making the Pro Bowl every year and cementing himself as the greatest cornerback of all time. Almost 30 years later, Jones and Sanders may find themselves once again doing business with one another. Jones is looking for a new head coach for his football team, and there have been reports that both he and Sanders have mutual interest in possibly reuniting. Sanders has been the head coach at the University of Colorado the last two years and now may possibly be eyeing a move to the National Football League. Jason Bell, former NFL player turned analyst, who once played for Jones and the Cowboys, believes that this is what Jones does best. “I gotta love Jerry Jones,” Bell told talkSPORT in an exclusive interview. “Love him, played for him, I remember conversations we had like it was yesterday, just because of his charisma. “It’s amazing that a guy that’s not in the playoffs has stolen the news cycle again, right? It’s no secret that Jones loves the spotlightGetty “This is the magic of Jerry Jones. “We are talking about the elite eight right now, but all of a sudden it’s the Dallas Cowboys and what they’re gonna do. “It’s genius by him and throwing in Deion Sanders, Primetime, into that conversation. “It explodes as far as the media is concerned. “Do I think it’s gonna happen? “I don’t know, but I love that they are really having this conversation right now.” Bell believes that if this reunion does happen, then you better not doubt the magic of Primetime. “If you doubt Deion Sanders, you haven’t looked at his track record and who he is and what he is and how he goes about his business,” Bell said. “Period. “Deion Sanders believes in himself. He’s confident in himself, he knows what he’s doing. “He knows how to relate and one thing about Deion is that he knows he is the engine. “Deion’s the story and that helps. “It works, especially when you’re trying to command a room. “So do I doubt Deion Sanders? Never. “My favorite player ever. I’ve been to his house when I was young, when I first got to Dallas, went to his house and was starstruck. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m in Deion Sanders’s house.’ “But I would never doubt anything he does.” The picture will become clearer in the coming days and weeks, as Jones narrows his search, but by all reports, Sanders is ready to pick up the phone and help restore the glory to ‘America’s Team.’ Back to the biggest stage, as only Primetime knows how.
