According to a new report from THR, actors David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham have been cast as Kara’s Kryptonian parents in Supergirl: World of Tomorrow. The movie just started filming last week as also confirmed by the trade. It has now been revealed that Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) and Beecham (Cruella) are playing the parents of Kara Zor-EL, AKA Supergirl, played by Milly Alcock.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is inspired by the comic book of the same name. Though, how faithful an adaptation it will be remains to be seen. We do know that both Ruthye (Eve Ridley) and Krem (Matthias Schoenaerts) have been cast for the movie. Both characters featured heavily in the plot of the comic. We also know that Jason Momoa plays Lobo in a smaller role in the film. Superman himself, David Corenswet is also expected to at least cameo. The actor has been spotted around set already.

As per the trade,

‘David Krumholtz, who was recently part of the all-star cast of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, and British actress Emily Beecham have joined the space-faring cast of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which Craig Gillespie is directing for Warner Bros. Discovery arm DC Studios.’

‘The feature, which began shooting this week in DC’s UK production hub of Leavesden, is inspired by the Tom King and Bilquis Evely comic book mini-series and stars House of the Dragon‘s Milly Alcock playing Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman.’

I’ve never read the comic book, but I’m intrigued to see how it will play out on the big screen. It’s sounds kinda cool, but I’m also in the dark a lot with Supergirl as a character.
