Dave Franco On Luigi Mangione Comparisons

Actor Dave Franco says he’s well aware of the visual comparisons being made between him and Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old man arrested and charged for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Mangoine was arrested on December 9th and subsequently generated much chatter online, some about his actions and a lot about his good looks.

On social media, comparisons were quickly made between Dave Franco and Luigi Mangione, with many suggesting the “Neighbors” and “Now You See Me” actor should play him in the eventual movie based on the matter.

The actor, who appeared at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend to promote the horror film “Together’ alongside real-life partner Alison Brie, was asked if anyone had talked to him about the comparison.

Brie responded, “Anyone? Do you mean everyone?” Franco added, “I have never received more texts in my life about anything. Anyone who has my phone number has reached out about it.”

Brie then joked, “But I don’t think there have been any official offers. ” Franco added, “No, no official offers.”

Mangione has pleaded not guilty and is currently awaiting a court appearance in February. No official scripted projects are in the works about the event as yet, but several documentaries are coming including one from Oscar winner Alex Gibney.
