Dan Stevens Returns For “Godzilla x Kong 3”

Dan Stevens, who played the veterinarian ‘Trapper’ in “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” is in negotiations to reprise his role in Legendary’s latest installment.

Grant Sputore (“I Am Mother”) will take over directing the creature feature from Adam Wingard, the third film seeing Godzilla and Kong sharing double billing after “Godzilla vs. Kong” and ‘New Empire’, and the sixth overall in the Monster-verse saga which also includes the well-regarded “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” series.

The new film will have several new human characters alongside the iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.

“No-One Will Save You” and “The Last of Us” actress Kaitlyn Dever, who is new to the franchise, was the first to be cast, with more to come shortly. Trapper was introducedas doing dental work on Kong in the most recent film and ended up joining the expedition into Hollow Earth.

Last year’s “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” was the biggest box office hit of the franchise to date grossing over $571 million worldwide. The Monsterverse as a whole has accumulated over $2.5 billion at the global box office.

Stevens will shortly be seen in Netflix series “Zero Day” headlined by Robert De Niro, the Wingard-directed action thriller “Onslaught,” the film “Swiped” about the founding of dating site Bumble, and AMC horror series “The Terror: Devil in Silver”.
