Christopher Nkunku sends message to Chelsea over Manchester United transfer
Chelsea are demanding a £65 million fee for Christopher Nkunku (Shutterstock) Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku is not interested in joining Manchester United on a temporary loan deal, according to reports. Nkunku has attracted interest from both Bayern Munich and United this month having struggled to secure a regular role under Enzo Maresca this season. United have asked about Nkunku’s situation during negotiations with Chelsea over a deal for Alejandro Garnacho. Chelsea, who signed Nkunku in a £52 million deal from RB Leipzig in 2023, are now demanding a £65m fee for the 27-year-old. It’s understood that Nkunku has indicated that he would be willing to join United this month, however, Fabrizio Romano reports that the French forward only wants a permanent transfer, or a loan which would include an obligation to buy. Bayern declared their interest in Nkunku earlier this month, however, any deal involving the Bundesliga leaders hinges on Mathys Tel’s exit. Chelsea have already held talks with Bayern over a deal for Tel but the 19-year-old, who has started just two games in the Bundesliga this season, wants to remain with the German club. Elsewhere, Chelsea are in talks with Aston Villa over a deal for Joao Felix, who has also struggled for minutes under Maresca this term. Villa attempted to sign Felix last year before he ended up joining Chelsea in a £46.3 million deal from Atletico Madrid. Villa are also close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea over a loan deal for Axel Disasi. It’s understood that the French defender has already agreed a move to Unai Emery’s side.
