Lucky
Timothy Olyphant (“Justified,” “The Trip”) is set to star as the father of Anya Taylor-Joy’s Lucky in the limited series “Lucky” based on the novel by Marissa Stapley. Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas are co-showrunners.

The story follows a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago and now embraces her darker criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past. Jonathan Van Tulleken will direct several episodes. [Source: Deadline]

House of the Dragon
James Norton (“Grantchester,” “Happy Valley”) has been cast as Ormund Hightower in HBO’s third season of its “Game of Thrones” spin-off “House of the Dragon”. The character has been referenced but not shown on screen before.

Ormund is Otto’s (Rhys Ifans) nephew, Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and Gwayne’s (Freddie Fox) cousin, and the Lord of Oldtown. He is presently leading the Hightower host in a march on King’s Landing to support his house against Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy). [Source: Variety]

Eric Bana (“Munich,” “The Dry”) is set to join the cast of the Baltasar Kormákur-directed survival thriller “Apex” starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton for Netflix. Theron plays a rock climber who finds herself being hunted in the wild. Details of Bana’s role is under wraps. [Source: Deadline]

Matchbox
Danai Gurira (“Black Panther,” “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live”) has officially signed on to join John Cena, Jessica Biel, Sam Richardson Teyonah Parris in the live-action “Matchbox” film adaptation at Mattel Films.

The story is described as an action-packed, globetrotting adventure that centers on a group of childhood friends who must work together to stop an impending worldwide disaster and rediscover their friendship along the way. Sam Hargrave (“Extraction”) directs. [Source: THR]
